On the morning of 7th November, a blood donation bus slowly drove into gorgeous Anqing Foreign Language School, witnessing the 2017 voluntary blood donation campaign positively participated by Anqing Foreign Language School’s teaching and administrative staff.
In the first place, this blood donation activity was initiated by the school trade union and won active response from all faculty members. Finally, ten teachers were selected to participate in this year’s voluntary blood donation campaign. They were Yang Jiang&Jiang Yemin from the Primary Department, Zhang Li& Ning Efu from the Junior High Section of the east campus, Zhou Mi, Tian Lei& Bao Yuqi from the Junior High Division of the west campus as well as Wang Ning, Cui Mingli& Jiang Shandong with the Senior High Department. Led by the medical personnel from downtown blood bank, teachers were full of enthusiasm, filled out forms to register, took blood pressure , made blood test and drew blood sampling in order.
In the second place, Anqing Foreign Language School’s President Madam Huang Wenli specially got on the blood donation vehicle to visit the blood donors. Madam President expressed her admiration towards their great love spirit of selfless dedication and pleasure in helping others. Also, she reminded them to pay attention to rest after the blood donation.
In the third place, among all the teachers who donated their blood, some of them took part in the campaign for the first time while others several times. Teacher Wang Ning with the Senior High Section was quoted as saying, ‘It is the first time that I’ve participated in the blood donation activity. I wanted to donate blood before. However, I kind of fainted during acupuncture treatment. As is known to all, blood donation without repayment is a public welfare behavior to carry forward the spirit of helping others and selfless contribution. Besides, it is every citizen’s responsibility and obligation. Thus, as a teacher from Anqing Foreign Language School, I want to respond to the call from school and challenge myself in the meantime’. Nonetheless, due to nervousness, her blood sampling process lasted nearly twenty minutes.
On the other hand, teacher Bao Yuqi from the Junior High Department was afraid of needlesickness too. So as to divert attention, she downloaded a comedy film so that she laughed during the blood donation course. In fact, her sweet laughter reverberated on the blood donation vehicle.
To conclude, it was the third time that teacher Ning Efu had taken part in Anqing Foreign Language School’s blood donation campaign. Since he had a profound understanding on the significance of blood to rescue patients, he continuously participated in the voluntary blood donation activities. Also, he was quoted as saying, ‘Donating blood can not only help others, but also promote blood circulation and benefit health. So why not do it?’.
